Detalus apibūdinimas
• Prašome paaiškinti siūlomą pakeitimą tiksliai ir glaustai, kad būtų kuo lengviau suprasti, ką jūs siūlote.
The Instantly-Win-Card finishes the game instntly - so far so good. But it should allow the active player to finish their move to set their points relatively to the other players.
Depending how fast he player holding the card activates it, there is no chance in buing e.g. a colony card, which could move the active player from third to second place.• Kokia tavo naršyklė?

"When you use this ability, points are irrelevant; the game ends immediately and you win!"
If points are irrelevant, then there is one winner and tied losers.
Obviously, in view of your report, BGA applies a different rule, which is acceptable only if it is approved by the author or publisher of the game, and especially known to the players.
Your proposal makes sense, but it concerns an unofficial rule applied by BGA, the legitimacy of which must first be verified.

When you
use this ability, points are irrelevant; the
game ends immediately and you win! Do
not finish the round. If another player has
more than 40 you win anyway.
it says Do not finish the ROUND, but you should allow to finish the turn of the active player.

2023 kov. 20. 2:01 • boardgamearena.com/table?table=358406816 yes it's very frustrating I was about to go up to 3rd or 2nd here but getting robbed of my turn means I end last and rank down instead of up in arena play.

So, your comment is off topic, and if it still concerns an existing bug, you’d better create a new bug report.

2023 spal. 10. 21:27 • Been discussing this with my regular play group and seems that it should go one of two ways:
If you're going to place players using their score up till that point (which goes contrary to the SB ruleset), you should let the turn finish so that rewards may be collected. That could mean the difference between 4th and 2nd and shouldn't be dictated by player's mousing abilities.
I believe that it probably should end right away and the points are irrelevant as the rule states, but the question is: "Is everyone tied for the first available place (i.e. 2nd) or is everyone tied for last?"
In most cases ties go to the first available place, which we see in BGA behaviour when two people are tied for 2nd for example (40, 36, 36, 31). While it's tempting to say "of course that's how you do it," I would suggest that doing it that way might lessen the win of the player using the You Win card. I don't know enough about how ELO is implemented here, but if the winner's gain is based on the position of each player in a multi player game, then the other players finishing 4th might result in better ELO gain for the winner.
In any case, the BGA system may not allow for "setting places" so probably the only practical thing to do is when the You Win is activated, that the other players scores is reset to 0 and they all tie for second.

2023 spal. 10. 21:53 • @Andrew C-137: It's not just an issue for players' mousing abilities. It's also an issue in turn-based games where some players aren't online to play their next turn before the You Win card is activated. So players have not had an equal chance to score points for the ranking. I hadn't considered that all players would be tied for 2nd. At the moment I am thinking that players would be ranked by their final score, which is consistent with other games - if you don't think you can win, then play for 2nd; there should be a way to at least elevate your position.
I don't yet have permission from the publisher to implement any variants like this.

For sure - either way would be an improvement - let the turn finish or rank all the non winning players the same. IMHO I think ranking them all the same would be more consistent with the standard rules of the game as it does say "When you use this ability, points are irrelevant; the game ends immediately and you win!"
I often play for 2nd place when it's clear someone else is going to win, but feel like getting ranked after the You Win gets activated isn't a great metric.
It will be interesting to see what JDC and the folks at AEG say - it may not even be a variant; rather a move to adhere closer to the rules.
Thanks for looking into this!

2023 lapkr. 26. 17:26 • Our game of it just finished with the "You Win" card, with some people benefiting from Red rewards, and others not, which changed relative order of those in 2nd and below, and rank points won/lost might have been different.
Either everyone should get their benefits, or nobody should, not just the active player.

2024 rugp. 25. 18:26 • I will set the winning player to 40 points, the others to 20, because it is easier than extending the game, and because it is more consistent to the rulebook. Obviously rulebooks usually don't consider tournaments.
