Here are the current standings from a tournament where points for a five-player game are allocated as +6, +5, +3, +1, 0, for positions 1 through 5 respectively in each game: snipboard.io/gZWF3Y.jpg
Notice the portions of that screencap that I circled in yellow. During Step 1, players Han Shot First and Liam Best tied for fourth place. They should theoretically receive half a point each for that, but it's marked as one point each. That by itself is not the bug I'm reporting; it would be reasonable to round up in such a situation, if done consistently. The bug is this: if you look at the standings, the Step 1 result was counted as 0 points for each of those two players. Han Shot First currently has 6 points (0 for Step 1; +6 for Step 2) while Liam Best currently has 5 points (0 for Step 1; +5 for Step 2).
The point totals are marked as +1 in the game-by-game results, but counted as 0 in the standings. That's a bug. The URL for this tournament is: boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=167894
By comparison, in Swiss tournaments for two-player games, the software has no problem in awarding and displaying half-points. For example, look at the sections I circled in yellow here: snipboard.io/V6Qx3w.jpg (The URL for that tournament is: boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=159903 )
Solution: For Swiss tournaments in multiplayer games, ensure that ties award fractional points as is done for Swiss tournaments in two-player games. Alternatively, you can establish a policy of always rounding up to the nearest integer, or down to the nearest integer, but just make sure it is consistent as between the game results and the totals given in the tournament standings.
