I got the opportunity to buy grain AFTER the completion of the contract. But it should offer me the option to do the build bonus FIRST so I can buy grain (I had 13 cash so I could but 2 grain (7-2 cost)). AFTER that I was able to brew beer and gain 9 per grain so it would have been a +8 (2x4) cash total operation. -

Well nothing happend.
I completed my contract and it just went to completed without offering the option on top of the screen what to do first: build or brew.
I double checked this case with the creator of the game Juma and he confirms that in normal circumstances I had to be able to build first, buy grain and brew beer afterwards. • Kokia tavo naršyklė?

If you have no grain the code will not trigger the brew action. These are good intention but in combo with the build bonus you are able to buy grain.
There are 2 options in my opinion:
a. The game is going to perform a full check: what is the pricing of grain, has the player cash & traders, are there mills on the map, is the player able to build beside a mill, ... This will be a long and more difficult way.
b. I think option b is better as this is an exceptional case: just show the option build or brew always first. If a player selects brew without grain it should give a message: build first. Normally players that do this will always build first as they know they don't have grain. If there is grain after the build the option can stay to brew, if there is no grain the contract can be automatically completed with asking to brew (as there is no grain).

i found a bug with the Clan MacEwen during the sommer tournament. It occur when you finish a contract with building without tile cost and with houblon on the contract.
if you have at least 1 wheat, you can use the build ability to construct near a wheat Building and buy some additional wheat before transform wheat to Beer to gain 9$. But if you have 0 wheat you can't, your turn pass immediately after doing the building and buy the wheat .
If you trigger a building bonus but don't have the money YET to buy a contract, you don't see contracts and your turn ends. Even if you could have gained the money through the £10 port.
It makes sense not to take the money immediately if you can get it through the "use another port" port.

Granchy had 9 gold remaining after triggering the building bonus and could gain 7 (10 minus 3) through port. But they didn't get to see contracts.
The UI already cover some of these "port" edge cases by asking, often unnecessarily, if one wants to buy resources when out of money or merchants. It should probably do the same for brewing and picking contracts.
As a (neutral) consequence, we would always get to see 3 contracts that (probably) won't be in the next round/building bonus.
