The straight track tiles can be rotated directly on the draw pile, i.e. prior to placement on the game board. Unless I'm doing something wrong, it appears that the T-junction tiles currently can only be rotated by clicking on the track the player wants to update. I think it would be more intuitive if the T-junction tiles could be rotated on the draw pile as well. Right now I'm having a hard time figuring out which way the rotated tile will be facing, so I find myself using the undo button a lot :)

1. Rotate the T-junction tile in the palette, then place it just as you would a straight or a curve.
Advantages:
- more consistent with straight and curve track tile placement
- can place the tile by clicking on the entire board square, rather than just the edge (easier on mobile)
Disadvantages:
- more confusing to figure out how to rotate a T-junction while thinking about the existing track on a different part of the interface. (Straights and curves are more intuitive since they each have only two exits).
- Players using the action palette to place multiple T-junctions will have to keep going back and forth to the action palette to figure out the correct rotation for each tile.
2 (currently implemented). Highlight the edges that would be upgradeable to a T-Junction, but allow clicking any upgradeable edges, including Cross junctions (vice versa for the Cross junction tile).
Advantages:
- Less time figuring out how to rotate tiles - you can keep your eyes on the actual path you want to make.
Disadvantages:
- Less intuitive to use a different interface for placing vs upgrading track.
- Smaller clickable areas to take out the action (more difficult on mobile)
3. Hybrid - clicking on edges of tiles will upgrade that edge, but clicking elsewhere in the board square will place the tile as rotated in the palette.
Advantages:
- Allows the tile placement action to be consistent with straight and curve placement.
- Alternatively, lets you stay focused on the board as with option 2
Disadvantages:
- Two different click responses within a single board square is not obvious, makes misclicks much more likely, and could lead to even more confusion.
I still prefer option 2 given that figuring out how to rotate a tile to add an exit to an existing track is inherently more complex, especially in a different part of the interface. I'd rather make the action more focused on which exits you actually want to add rather than rotating tiles. I will keep the suggestion open in case more people prefer a different option.
There is a dropdown menu where you can change the option by clicking on the hamburger menu in the upper right, or in the Options tab below the board.
