If you continually rotate a tile when it's in your "hand", it will un-rotate _exactly_ the number of times you rotated it. For example, if you rotate the tile all the way around 10 times, it will also un-rotate 10 times. It's humorous and looks like a propeller, but I would expect it to un-rotate only as many times as necessary (i.e. maximum of 180/270 degrees) instead of as many rotations as you made it turn.
